Emergence in the Agent Swarm: When AI Agents Become Organisation
The machine has learned to speak; now it is learning to act. AI agents take on tasks, and in multi-agent systems they distribute work, exchange knowledge and learn from one another. Where agents exchange knowledge, communication arises. And from communication arises emergent behaviour: patterns, roles and structures that no one prescribed and that cannot be traced back to any single agent, just as the shape of a flock of birds cannot be traced back to any single bird.
In this way, agents become actors in the organisation. With every cycle their shared knowledge grows, and opportunity and risk intensify from the same mechanism: more impact and efficiency on the one hand, shifted roles, responsibility and perception on the other.
The keynote connects the Theory of the Digital Society with the practice of autonomous systems. It shows why agent swarms cannot be steered through individual agents alone, why governance becomes a matter of detecting emergence, and why an organisation must first understand itself as an emergent system in order to harness the potential of autonomous systems.

Bookable formats & workshop packages
Every event sets its own accents. The impulse is available in three formats, from a compact inspiration on the main stage to an interactive transfer into practice. We deliver the impulses flexibly on site or as a digital event.
Keynote
The classic stage format
We deliver the keynote as a concise impulse talk between 30 and 60 minutes: compact, to the point and individually tailored to your stage and your audience.
Impulse talk & workshop
Impulse with an in-depth practice session
The keynote is followed by a facilitated workshop in which the group experiences the ideas first-hand and transfers them directly to a concrete question from their own organisation.
Impulse day
The comprehensive strategy or transformation workshop
The keynote provides the inspiring kick-off, followed by facilitated workshops, interaction groups and targeted work with our proven tools on a predefined objective.
The speakers: Sarah Nünlist & Marc Leuzinger
Marc Leuzinger and Sarah Nünlist are the authors of the Theory of the Digital Society and the strategy duo behind TRIB3S. They combine the intellectual depth of their systems-theory approach with the real challenges of modern leadership. With their approachable, inspiring manner they translate complex dynamics into compelling narratives that stick. Depending on the format and objective, the two appear as a well-rehearsed duo or as individual speakers.
Appearances have included the CNO Panel, the CV Summit and the European DAO Workshop, as well as leadership retreats and parliamentary-group meetings. Further references on request.

She is driven by the design space that the new opens up — using it to develop products and models that genuinely move us forward as a society.
Sarah Nünlist

In the logic of complex systems Marc finds the foundation for intelligent strategy. His goal is to give organizations a coherent core for a networked world.

Frequently asked questions
Who is this impulse particularly suited to?
The impulse is aimed at executive teams, board members and those responsible for AI, digitalisation and governance who are deploying AI agents or planning to. It is equally suited to leadership retreats that engage fundamentally with the future of their own organisation in the age of AI.
Is technical prior knowledge of AI agents required?
No. The keynote explains how agents and multi-agent systems work in a way that is understandable without any technical background. The focus is not on tools, but on the question of what happens to an organisation when agents become part of its communication and its decisions.
What does emergence mean in multi-agent systems?
Emergence refers to properties and behaviours that arise only in the interplay of many elements and cannot be explained from a single element. In multi-agent systems it arises as soon as agents exchange knowledge, write results back and react to one another. In this way roles, patterns and structures form that no one planned. For organisations, this holds both the greatest potential of autonomous systems and, at the same time, their greatest risk.
Where can we find references to previous appearances?
Our impulses have proven themselves in both politics and business. References include renowned events such as the national CNO Panel or the international CV Summit, closed internal leadership retreats of companies and political bodies (parliamentary-group and party meetings), as well as academic events such as The European DAO Workshop. On request we are happy to send you specific references.

Organisation & Leadership
The blocked organisation: leadership in systemic conflict
Why initiatives stall and projects block: the impulse decodes how the epochal shift shapes employees' behaviour in organisations, and shows how leaders can regain their capacity to steer.

AI Autonomy & Identity
The generative organisation: can AI create what people identify with?
When AI agents develop ideas and interact with customers, value creation shifts to the machine. The impulse shows how identity gives orientation to autonomous action.
